NookPRIVACY POLICY — NOOK
Nook makes home-screen widgets: photos, clocks, calendars, countdowns and more. This policy says, in plain words, what the app does with your information. It is short because the app is built to know as little about you as it can.

THE SHORT VERSION
Nook has no accounts, no sign-in and no ads. Your photos, the words you type and your designs stay on your phone. Unless you switch it off in Settings, anonymous usage events and crash reports are sent to Google Firebase so we can see which designs work and fix crashes. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask before sending anything. Purchases go through Google Play and RevenueCat.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
The following never leaves your phone through us. It is kept in the app's private storage and is deleted when you uninstall the app:
- Your photos. You pick them with Android's photo picker; Nook never asks for access to your whole gallery. It copies a resized version into its private storage so your widget keeps working if the original moves, and never uploads it.
- Your words — captions, notes, quotes, names and initials you type into a widget.
- Your designs, the countdown dates you set, and which widgets you placed.
- Your settings, such as the accent colour and the language.
Android's own backup may copy your designs and photos into your Google account backup. That backup belongs to you and is controlled in your phone's settings, not by us.
WHAT LEAVES YOUR PHONE
Usage events and crash reports. Unless you switch off "Share anonymous usage and crash reports" in Settings → Privacy, Nook sends:
- Usage events through Google Firebase Analytics — for example that a style was opened, a widget was placed or a pack was applied, with the identifiers of our own styles, packs and sizes and which screen led to the premium page. Never your text, your photos or anything you typed. Firebase assigns a random app-instance identifier to count these events.
- Crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics — the technical state of the app and the device (app and Android version, device model, free memory) at the moment the app crashed.
We use these only to learn which designs people like and to fix what breaks. We do not use them for advertising, we tell Google that advertising storage and personalisation are denied, and Nook does not use the advertising ID.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the law asks for your consent first, so Nook shows Google's consent form and sends nothing unless you agree. You can change that choice at any time in Settings → Privacy → Privacy choices. Everywhere, switching the Settings option off stops collection immediately.
Purchases. Buying Nook Premium goes through Google Play. RevenueCat, our purchase service provider, receives a random identifier for your installation and your Google Play purchase records, so it can tell the app whether Premium is active. Neither we nor RevenueCat receive your name, email address or payment details; Google Play handles the payment.
WHAT WE NEVER DO
- No ads, and no advertising SDK.
- No selling or sharing of your data.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection.
- No location, contacts, microphone, camera or storage permission. The app asks for no dangerous Android permission at all.
RETENTION AND DELETION
Analytics events are kept for two months and crash reports for 90 days, then deleted by Firebase. Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on your phone. To ask us to delete data linked to your installation, write to merentalan@gmail.com with the approximate date you installed the app; because Nook has no accounts, that date helps us find it.
WHO PROCESSES DATA FOR US
- Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd) — usage events and crash reports, as described above. https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

These providers may process data outside your country; such transfers rely on their standard contractual clauses.
LEGAL BASIS AND YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EEA and the UK or the KVKK in Türkiye — you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of data linked to your installation, object to its processing, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting what was done before. Where consent is required, analytics and crash reports rely on your consent; elsewhere on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it, which you can refuse with the Settings switch. Purchases rely on performing our contract with you. We answer within 30 days at merentalan@gmail.com. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
CHILDREN
Nook is meant for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, the new version is published at https://nook.quantix.studio/privacy with a new date. Significant changes are also announced in the app's release notes.
